Is it really that hard?
Find an old picture
and look at it
hard
and for a very long time
Yikes!
Go ahead
you can say it out loud
it will feel a whole lot better!
Yes
loads of smiles
all the while growing older.
So What happened!?
no lines are seen
in past pictures
when we were young
so young
a... way
back...
then
singing other songs.
WHO was that woman
or
WHOS was that man
WHO was that girl
or boy
who the heck was that
so beautiful
and upon reflection
so outstandingly
grand?
Five ways to feel old
not really that hard
if you consider the past
years lived
and a past
hard
not easy
to restart.
So I was thinking
on this day
this very second
of life
arrayed
I want to stop that
talk
and with a bit of self shock
take in every second
of todays
glorious
yes I said
glorious
walk.
OK! So that is ONE way
backwards from what I did say...
You gotta live life
TODAY!
Embrace this very second
the NOW as they tell you
Take a deep breath
yes, this very moment
and second!
Done?
Did you do it?
Take in life's high
that full breath of fresh air
life's ride
and the magic it comes from?
Yes...
is that done?
Soo many things fade
as we let go.
Memories
too hard to embrace
time
just goes...
Just goes
youth
just fades.
Simplicity brings a thousand
and one
things
all we need do is embrace
each fragile kiss
and hold the fragrance
of lost
perhaps even neglected
years
we did not outrun.
Don't miss those elusive gifts
that once indeed brought us
to
a predictable
cheer.
TWO is clear
focus on what brings you
CHEER!
Be it grandchild
or first child
or great grand past the years child
those smiles
are indeed golden
gladly
I chose them.
Does life at times seems
stolen?
Feel as if lines are drawn
and you missed the simple
sounds of contented smiles?
Wait..
say a smile out loud!
Do it
have a silly day
that if you try will wash all cares
away.
Be silly for just one second
laugh out loud
at the mere suggestion
can you hear you
singing number THREE
LOUD!!
Look into your mirror
and see
You singing.
Of all the mountains we could cross
rivers flowing
memories lost?
No.. think again
this is not pretend
we have all crossed some pretty
spectacular
landscape bends!
This is a glorious world
yes?
My friend..
and it is FOUR
in the making
do not mistake it
LIFE lived
is spectacular and it is
YOURS.
FIVE is everything that feels alive
you eating breakfast
me writing
these simple lines.
YOU are remarkable
and you know what?
So am I!
Sooo instead of feeling old
feeling that mirror
looking back at you
be grand!
You are a legend
in waiting
and miracles are all around you
and me
